Kuwait condemns inhuman practices against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar

KUWAIT, July 1 (KUNA) --  Kuwait denounced on Sunday inhuman practices against Muslims in Myanmar, an official source of the Foreign Ministry said. 

As a member state of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the State of Kuwait is keen to see Muslims worldwide living in better conditions, the source said. The source quoted a recent OIC resolution calling on the government of Myanmar to put an end to internal displacement and force migration of Muslims in Myanamr.

Kuwait is making contacts with other OIC members states for putting the Muslim body's resolution in force, urging the government of Myanmar to respect international legitimacy resolution bearing on human rights.

Source from:Rohingya bloer.   December 2: BRUNEI is in a unique position to address the plight of the Muslim   Rohingya   people in Myanmar who are facing persecution and ethnic cleansing, the chief of the   Organisation   of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) said yesterday. "Brunei being both a member of  OIC  and ASEAN is in a unique position to help address the violation of human rights and the plight of the  Rohingya  people, particularly (since) they are suffering from ethnic cleansing," said Ekmeleddin   Ihsanoglu  at a press conference following a public lecture he gave at  Universiti  Brunei Darussalam  ( UBD ). Ihsanoglu  is in the Sultanate on a three-day visit, where he also met with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang  Di-Pertuan  of Brunei  Darussalam . The  OIC  secretary-general said the monarch expressed particular concern for the violence between Muslims and Buddhists in the coastal  Rakhine  state of Myanmar. "We had a very fruitful meeting.

High Level Diplomats Visit Burmese Refugee Camps in Bangladesh

Cox's Bazar: A 19-member delegation comprised of diplomats from western countries has recently visited the Burmese Muslim refugee camps in southeastern Cox's Bazar District in Bangladesh.  The team visited the Kutupalong and Nayapara official refugee camps in Cox's Bazar on 6 April, 2011, and assessed the living conditions, health, and education of the refugees, said a refugee from Kutupalong Camp. "The delegates inspected the sheds and had some interviews with the refugees about our living condition, health, and education, and also asked us if we are willing to go back to Burma," said the refugee.
