Turkish Red Crescent awaits Myanmar response to assist Rohingya Muslims

Chairman of the Turkish Red Crescent Ahmet Lutfi Akar said that they made a contact with Myanmar government to be able to help the Muslims in the country.

Turkish Red Crescent is willing to help Rohingya Muslims who are staying in camps alongside Bangladesh border with Myanmar after fleeing violence against them in Arakan region in the west of Myanmar.
Speaking to AA correspondent on Friday, Chairman of the Turkish Red Crescent Ahmet Lutfi Akar called on international community to take immediate action on Rohingya Muslims issue.
Noting that the Turkish Red Crescent was nowadays having busy schedule to help Rohingya Muslims, Akar said that they made a contact with Myanmar government to be able to help the Muslims in the country.
"We want to go to Myanmar to assist Muslims who are living there. We made a contact with the Myanmar government and their Red Cross. Now we are waiting for a response. If we convince them, we will conduct several operations there, hoping to attract international community's attention to the issue," said Akar.
Akar also stated that they were willing to build new camps and mobile kitchen in Bangladesh.
